We’re off to a great start with the launch of Friends of Royaneh but as with anything starting from the ground up, there are often many questions. We’ve been fielding those from many of our members and those interested in joining, so we thought it would be good to share them with everyone. Take a look, maybe your answers are below.
If you have a question reach out to us.
Membership is open to anyone no matter their camp connection. From campers to staff to adult leaders. Even parents, friends, & family can join. If you’ve heard of Royaneh, you can join! Our membership is open to non-scouters too! Lots of non-scout groups visit Camp as well.
To connect with others, to share the camp spirit all year long, to help camp thrive for generations to come, to get cool patches, and to have the ability to visit camp outside of the traditional ways.
Check out our membership page for more info.
Basically we have four ways to join…
Baden Powell ($15 per year) – For those 15 & under. You’ll receive a patch, member card, event invites, and more. Non-voting member
Yearly Options ($19.25 per year) – For those 16 & over. Same as BP but are a voting member.
Diamond R ($500, $375 for those 65 & over) – Lifetime option with special recognition items. Also receive same benefits as yearly.
Thunderbird Circle ($1925) – Legacy Lifetime option, receive D-R items, plus custom Thunderbird Circle item, and name on Royaneh Giving Tree in Camp.
The Royaneh 100 events are completely separate from Friends of Royaneh. The funds raised then are allocated for specific uses.
Money we collect will go to member gifts & recognition items, camp program & improvements, and special events we host.
We have a few options, with something in reach for everyone. For the average price of lunch, $19.25, you can be a full voting member. You’ll just pay that once per year. When you’ve saved enough money, you can upgrade your membership to one of the two lifetime options.
If you join at the $500 Diamond R level, when ready you can bump up to the legacy Thunderbird Circle, by only paying the difference.
We also have a discounted Diamond R option for those 65 and older. They’ll pay only $375
Plus both the Diamond R and Thunderbird Circle options, have payment plans in place. So you don’t need the full amount when you register.
The payment platform we use only makes money off of the service fee. We, as a part of Golden Gate Area Council, don’t pay any additional fees to utilize the payment platform.
The money saved on our end, will go towards improvements needed at Royaneh.
Different but the same. This is a revamp of what once was.
We’re building upon the original spirit of the alumni association and expanding to a wider reach. Our hope is to connect with more people and keep the camp spirit alive all year long
