In Camp Member Celebration

2026 F.O.R. At Camp Recap

On Saturday July 18th, 2026 members of the Friends of Royaneh gathered in camp for our first ever member event.  We had a solid group of over 50 members and guests.  Several of the Summer Camp staff spent their day off with us as well (all of the 2026 Summer Camp staff are also members of F.O.R.).  From all those gathered in camp, we represented every decade of Royaneh from the 1940s to present!

The afternoon was spent exploring camp.  Some members hadn’t been to camp in 20+ years so they were excited to see all the improvements and reminisce of their years in camp. We also had a scavenger hunt that sent members throughout camp to find some of the larger projects recently completed.  Part of the hunt was also meeting members!  Others enjoy their afternoon either chatting or enjoying some activities on the parade the field.
After a few hours of exploring camp, we gathered at the amphitheatre for a BBQ some grilling followed by some announcements and presentations.

While are camp all members received their member recognition gifts.

 – Baden Powell and Yearly members received their member card, a found member sticker, and our founding member patch.

 – Diamond R members also received a D-R hat and a super cool set of glassware;  pencil holder, crayon holder, and a camp mug.

 – Thunder Bird Circle members received the items that D-R members received plus a custom embroidered Carhartt jacket!

We also announced our Board of Directors which will consist of 5 voting members plus 2 ex-officio advisors.

We asked our members in attendance what they expect from the Friends of Royaneh.  Our newly elected Board has lots of ideas of how to grow our connection to camp and each other!  Keep an eye out as we announce future events and gatherings.

Board of Directors

Board of Directors

To wrap up our day in camp, we announced the results from our first ever Board of Directors elections.

A little back story – All paid members over the age of 18 were eligible.  They simply needed to be nominated and then accept their nominations.  That gave us seven folks running for a Board Seat.       From there, all paying member over the age of 16 were able to vote for up to five members.  Those that received the most votes, became of first Board of Directors.

One of the first orders of business for the newly elected Board to determine amongst themselves who holds each position (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, & Member Chair).  In addition these five voting Board members, we will also have two ex-officio advisors (eoa).
